Of the four countries of peninsular
Southeast Asia, Vietnam has proved to be the most elusive for
unearthing roots and country music. We have managed to collect and
identify a few styles but expect there to be a lot more, as yet
undiscovered. A trip to the country, to the towns and villages, will
surely unveil the rich musical culture we believe exists in this
ethnically diverse country. |

Traditional instrumental music with a
modern, almost funky sound is about the closest we can come to
describing the
cải biên
style. |
